Spend some time with sculptor, savvy social media mogul, and surface savant—Liz Pechacek and find answers to these questions. Enjoy the wonder of her surface designs and try out some patterns of your own. Textures and layers create a visually adorned and complex, tactile surface that enhances the clean lines of her ceramic forms. Pechacek handbuilds and works on slipcast pieces. Each forming process culminates in hands-on decorations and enhancements that will entrance you.


Clay Relations: When Divergent Paths Collide

How do you find the bandwidth to feed your own studio practice? Are you interested in collaborating? Are you struggling with the realities of navigating a shared studio? Delve into a conversation about maintaining a studio practice while teaching with long-time educator Jil Franke and deliberate creature caricature and surface parodies with Kirk Lyttle. Converse with studio potters who work as collaboratively, yet who are independent in their individually unique forms, surfaces, and processes. Observe their studio practice which is one built on cooperation through shared ideas, materials, and firings. Look, learn, and ask lots of questions.
