9 am -12 pm: Electric kiln intensive: Learn how to program your electric kiln to make firing life-fire on all cylinders. The best bisque program for pots and for sculptural ceramics are not the same. Participants will break for lunch (self-provided)
1 - 3pm: Refine your practice with Pat Burns: All the way from Portland, Oregon, beloved potter Pat Burns will spend the morning sharing her new wheel forms and secrets to refine your studio practice. She has studied the classics, spending last fall at Leach Pottery with our friend Jeff Oestreich. Now, having absorbed her immersion experience, she can share her unique twist on the traditions of brown and round. Special guest appearance by Oestreich, who's back by popular demand as a part of our MEA extravaganza!
3 - 5pm: Legendary lesson planning with Ursula Hargens: Do you need to jump start your lesson planning? Wondering where to find some new inspiration? Have you been properly visualizing your creations ahead of time? Discuss the process of lesson planning and tying theory to lessons.
