Tom Jazczak earned his BS and BA from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minnesota. His work is driven by form and line, using line to direct the form physically and visually, and volume to evoke generosity. A functional potter, he is interested in minimalism, common shapes, and humbleness of form. He apprenticed at Mill Creek Pottery in Wisconsin with potter Simon Levin and assisted Tara Wilson at her studio in Helena, Montana. Jaszczak has been an artist-in-residence at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana, and Penland School of Craft in Penland, North Carolina. He was a recipient of a 2011 Jerome Ceramic Artist Project Grant. Jaszczak exhibits his pottery nationally and was selected for the Strictly Functional Pottery National in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
