Paul Eshelman received a BA in Art from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington and an MFA in Ceramics from the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island. Influenced by Japanese and Chinese craft, European design, and American Shaker utilitarianism, Eshelman produces functional stoneware pieces that feature contrast, visual, and tactile interests. He has been living and working in a small farming community in northwestern Illinois since 1988.
