Linda Arbuckle’s work in majolica-glazed earthenware has been recognized through an Artists' Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as a Florida Individual Artists' Fellowship. Arbuckle says, “The functional vessel as an art object provides personal experiences through use in one’s daily life. Line, color, gesture, and the lure of materiality articulate the value of indulgence and the transience of (plant) life.” Arbuckle is a retired Professor of Ceramics at the School of Art and Design, University of Florida, Gainesville.
Education: Zoology studies, Miami University, Oxford, Ohio BFA, Cleveland Institute of Art, Cleveland, Ohio MFA, Rhode Island School of Design, Providence.
