Justin Donofrio is a functional potter interested in geography and the relationship between materiality and landscape. His use of color references vibrant natural tones found in the wilderness. His undulating lines that show evidence of process and the remnants of making resemble natural rhythms. He is interested in capturing the ephemeral beauty of wet clay. Donofrio earned his BFA with a Concentration in Pottery from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, Colorado. Donofrio has exhibited nationally in locations including Red Lodge Clay Center, Tannery Arts Center, Archie Bray Foundation, and the Clay Studio of Philadelphia. He has also been featured in Ceramics Monthlyand has been a resident at the Archie Bray Foundation and Anderson Ranch Arts Center.
