Boone’s dishes are minimal objects; they are understated and are, at times, even overlooked, but worthy of investigation. She addresses the significance of the domestic experience through honest, simple compositions where every element is carefully considered. She has developed a line of tinted, transparent glazes, which are applied over an opaque slip, purposefully disclosing the dark clay beneath. Boone received an MFA in ceramics from the University of Massachusetts–Dartmouth, and a BA from the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, Virginia. She was a resident artist at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in Helena, Montana from 2009–2011. Boone currently maintains a studio in Meadowview, VA.
